- SynopsisAn adaptation of the play by Terence Rattigan about a middle-aged classics master, retiring because of ill-health and coming to terms with the way in which he is perceived by his pupils, his colleagues and his wife. A classics professor at an exclusive boys' school is made to retire. On the eve of his retirement he is forced to recognise the fact that he has failed as both a teacher and a husband. His pupils regard him as an ogre, and his wife is completely dissatisfied and so begins an affair with a visiting American teacher. (Synopsis)
